The Three Theories:
- The Soviets proved humans cannot survive short-term exposure to the radiation prevalent outside Earth's atmospheric shield. The USA saw an opportunity to out-do the Soviets in Space, who so far was winning the Space Race!
- The USA Dept. of Defense needed a false cover to send weapons into space, heavy tungsten rods to be thrown with a force of an atomic blast upon impact, which could be lifted only on Saturn rockets.
- The actual Moon Landing was kept under cover lest the enemy learns what exactly the USA did there, plus, the fabricated moon landing was conducted in case the astronauts died while en route.
